Is Life Meaningful?
Is this life Meaninful? Seriously, I really don’t know the answer to this question..
Once I had a thought that, To make Life Meaningful, one has to spend some of his time with his family and Friends.While my friend’s thought says, “Spend some of your Salary, it can change the world of a Child, and that makes life beautiful”
Definition of life changes from person to person, time to time and situation to situation. As I say this, I like to quote the lines from my friends.
Its My Friend Karthik, he finds the meaning of life in the job he does, the words “I feel software job is grt n filled my life with grt meaning” brings out the pride in his job.
Taking the view of my school Friend SriRam, for him “The life provides a lot of opportunity to learn. It has no meaning but dictates us to live” thereby he denies the existence of meaning for life.
Having heard the quotations of life, I leave the conclusion to the readers to decide, What do you think? is this life meaningful?

May Day
May Day, is always a special for Labours, as its celebration for International Worker’s Day. It was in 1886, in Chicago, Labours called for a strike to make work day as eight hours, which previously varies from 10 to 12 hours. The strike got its ignition when several workers were shot by the Chicago Police. The loss of lives has got its meaning when the strike succeeds. This Success has then spread across the world as Eight Hour work day.
Ok, Thats the history. Now, Lets come down to reality, The Economic Downturn, has forced all companies from east to west, to start extract their max output from the labour (having lay off as an Weapon), and worker was no more bonded to Eight hours myth. Companies which had a formal 8 hour policies, extends it by various loopholes around the policies & focussing more on deliveries.
Though the essence of May Day is completely lost, except for the holiday to spare, Lets take a minute to remember those who has given their life for us to live happily and work effectively.

Think for Alternative
“What is the best solution?” “What can be the alternative solution to go around this issue?” this sort of questions would be quite common in everywhere. Two days back, there occurs a situation, where I confronted with this question. It is when my web page displays “Error establishing a database connection” in a white page with the black letters.
Having experienced the free web hosting for two years, I have joined ixwebhosting.com six months back. Its the best paid web hosting with wonderful size of bandwidth/storage space.But While blogging on my previous post “Ayan“, I have been knocking this error message “Error establishing a database connection”. This wordpress error message is quiet evident that mysql server is gone down or has got some issues.
I was well aware of this message as this is common in free hosting services such as 110mb.com, kwikphp.com and sometimes even in awardspace.com. But, when I see the similar error in ixwebhosting.com, I couldnot tolerate, as this is paid web hosting where it is not acceptable to have this error even for a second, but it occurred to me for more than half an hour.
After a half an hour wait, I raised an ticket in ixwebhosting help center and I could see the web site coming back after 15 minutes.
Though this shows the unreliability of the service, we have to accept that these all programs which can go wrong anywhere, anytime and paid web hosting is no exception. However, I would expect some sort of load balancing mechanism implemented in ixwebhosting, to overcome such kind of disaster, to improve their reliability.
Also, Looking at the problem at the another angle, Its mainly the wordpress dependency on mysql, causes my complete website to go down during this issue. It gives me a thought over the database. And, I felt that , it is too much to ask for a powerful database for a single blog (mysql)!. Is there a way to use word press / blogging system without database?
As I think, There is two alternative, one is wordpress plugin, PDO(SQLite) for WordPress and other is a usage of flat file based bloging system, FlatPress or SimplePHPBlog. Implementation of this is not a matter of question, however dedication and time were the ones that keeps asking “Is it really worth it?” “What can be the alternative solution to go around this issue?” and “What is the best solution?”
Exec-PHP
Exec-PHP (From Sören Weber ) , is a one great worpress plugin, that allows user to write post which embeds active php script with in it, thereby,it makes the posts as a dynamically processed output.
Normally when this plugin was enabled in wordpress, the wordpress displays a following warning message on “Add New Posts” Admin Page.

This is quite annoying warning message in “Add New Posts” page, because normally, one would use Exec-PHP to embed active php scripts, in few of the posts, rather than all posts. This annoying message can be removed from that page, checking the below option which is present at the bottom of the user profile page.(Users->Your Profile)

You may find this tip as quite obvious and the solution itself exists in warning message, But the fact that made me write this blog is that i have been living with this annoying warning message for more than a year, by now.
Yaavarum Nalam (13B)
It’s a silent day, I had to return the books to the library, at the third floor of Bhavani. Bhavani is the one of the best building in Technopark, Trivandrum. I walked towards the lift at the basement, and staring around while a red Octavio cruises out of the building.
As i felt lazy to walk upto third floor, i decided to take the lift. I pressed the down arrow, the lift murmurs and started its downward journey from sixth floor to the -1, slower than usual.
The lift door opens, there is nobody other than me within or outside the lift. I went inside and gently tapped the No. 3 button. The lift door closes and when the lift is about to take its flight, the door opens again in the same basement.
Bloody hell, somebody has to have pressed the open button from outside. but as the door opens, I realised there is no one. Surprised however, I pressed the no.3 again, but again the door plays the same game. I am tired and convinced myself that the lift is stuck.
After trying a one more attempt , I came outside the lift and started walking towards the stairs, at the same time, two gentlemans rushed into the lift, I thought, of telling them that the lift is not working. But I was in no mood of shouting.
As I watch, the lift door closes slowly and it started moving up. I could not believe my eyes, the led display blinks the current position of the lift as 3. I couldnt understand how the lift works.
Is it a booth from the movie (yaavarum Nalam)(13b) has spelt a magic on me?
(Luckily, the spell disappeared after that :)
