Good Bye!!! Notepad
Eversince I know about it, Notepad++ is always my favorite. Given a windows machine, the first thing, I would do is to install Notepad++ in it. As I blogged earlier here, Notepad++ is amazingly great tool.
As you see, being so much addicted to Notepad++, Today, I decided to replace the windows default notepad with notepad++. That’s Quite a Simple, there is a handy guide available here (You need scroll half way down to see the tip).
I made a quick glance on the tip and quickly downloaded the notepad replacement executable and copied the files to the relevant folder. At this point, I noticed an interesting phenomena, i.e., when I replaced notepad.exe in the C:\windows folder, with in a fraction of second, old notepad.exe file is created back again in the C:\windows folder. That’s a silent trick Microsoft has done to ensure, notepad is not lost by virus or trojan.
So I was stuck at it. Again, I read the tip carefully, and I find the solution, i.e, I have to copy the file to various folder locations in the same order mentioned in the tip.(first on i386 folder -> dllcache -> system32 -> winroot). Voila. it worked.
Windows no more replaces the new file with the default notepad.exe. and Now, I started typing this blog in notepad++.
Twenty 20

Well, Twenty Twenty, the word has been floating around the air for quite sometime, across India.
The First place where it all started is the book “India 2020” written by the great visionary of India, APJ Abdul Kalaam, the book ignites the young minds towards the developed India, by year 2020. (how about writing a book India 2121?)
For almost, any Indian, Cricket is a like an air, without which one cant live. This crazy game, has taken a new avatar as mini One day, with just 20 overs for a team to play. That makes the word 20-20, favorite even for a new born baby.
And the Third One, is the one of the greatest milestone in Malayaalam Film Industry, Twenty 20, the action packed thriller movie, with the best screenplay, that suits the image of the magnanimous stars of the malayalam Industry.
Thats it all I had in my 20/20 vision about 20-20. And, this is not the end, still lot more 20-20 yet to come, that nurtures creativity, blah and blah..
BT Landline Connection
This blog plots the series of events that happened when we (Viral & me) applied for BT land line Connection, a year back (UK). Though this blog content was written in the year 2007, I like to publish it now, as memories were always memories.

Aug 23 .. I have placed an order to activate the land line for my house through online.
Aug 23 .. I received a automated confirmation mail from BT but unlikely the mail doesn’t have any info about order number.
Aug 28 .. After a week, I was clueless about what happened to the order that I have placed thru online. I called the BT through phone/mail. But all in vain. As there is no order number, they cant able to track it. Also, When i give address(postcode), the address was not in their database. so the customer service replied that Order was not placed. kindly place the order again.
Aug 29 .. Hence, My friend Viral placed an order for BT line through Phone
Sep 3 .. Order was activated and we were able to access phone.
Sep 12 .. I received a mail stating that My online order was activated and informed that line would be active by Sep 27. I have replied the mail stating all statistical dates and asked them to drop the online order. No response on the mail.
Sep 27 .. We received a letter to our home from BT that says, “your landline would be disconnected if you have not ring back in next 10 days, as we have recieved another order in the same house”
Oct 8 .. Phone Line was disconnected.
Oct 13 .. Phone Line was working. guess what.. its my old order which was undetectable in the database was activated. and 180�GBP has been detected from my friends account as a penalty for breaking contract.
BT Customer service line is one of the world’s best service. One instance of this is that, I have called BT customer service number, 0800 800 150 after one hour of wait, a customer service representative pick it up, after hearing all the story, he forward it to 0800 022 3089, again an hour wait, the explanation of the incident, she forward the call to 01793 591 155 where the call was disconnected abruptly.

There ends my writing of year back experience with BT. But I have to thank BT for their best Internet Connection Speed. Being an IT professional, I would put my experience with BT as follows …
” The automated system that runs the BT has got lots of scope to improve. Definitely, their IT team would be working on the Next Version..All the Best for them in implementing the top notch service product”
Cup Or Coffee
this Cup, it represents our life, and the coffee inside the cup represents the Work”
Joseph, a pioneer in software, has been working as a software engineer for less than three years, but he was calm and composed more than for his age. In the past two year, he has plans to visit his college and meet his professors. One fine monday, He took an off from work, went to college. It was a very lucky day,that He has a opportunity to meet almost all the lecuturers and professors who had nurtured him with the knowledge during his college days. Though, he was happy, but there is something that makes him feel sad. What is that? Its none other than the same old ego politics among Professors.
Then, he went to the College Canteen, thinking about the same. He ordered for a cup of coffee and sit on the table while a flash of those Olden days ran through his mind. He remembered how many great plans and proposals has been ruined by the egoism among the Professors. He thought that how great the college would be, if there is no egoism.
Suddenly he realised, he was sitting next to the senior professor of the college, who is known widely for his quick witted speech (not action). He tapped on Joseph and then they started speaking about various aspects. Finally, the topic comes to the college politics or works of lecturers and how the development of college /students education is being ruined by the Egoistic nature of lecturers.
In the mean time, two lecturers joins the discussion. Though Joseph, has not commented anything about importance of lecturer’s work initially,now he decided to speak out with the reference to the Cup of coffee.
He took the cup in his right hand,
“Sir, See this Cup, it represents our life, and the coffee inside the cup represents the Work we do.
Be it Life or Cup, It has got its meaning only when there is coffee or work. How true it is?
The taste of Coffee represent a unique mixture of sweet and bitter.
If we think, only one component is fine, we will miss the real coffee.
This is essentially more important in the case of work.
i.e., Our work would be complete, if we all work together as a team, thereby bringing a meaning to the life.
More importantly, the coffee is good only when it is hot.
So, We should procrastinate the procrastination and there by, work were completed before it gets exhausted.
Empty cup is worth for nothing. Every time, Our life gets exhausted, we need to fill it up the sweet and good work. Finally, Its all in our hands, whether to have a coffee or poison in cup. all We deserve, is a great coffee”
Professor and lecturers realized their mistakes and assured Joseph, they would make the change happen.
That’s the end of story. This is the first of the Story which explains pride of Software Engineer “Joseph”.
This story is an inspiration made out of the the following story.
if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.
“A group of software engineer, got together to visit their old university lecturer.
Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: “If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is, but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other’s cups.
Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn”t change.Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.
So folks, don”t let the cups drive you…enjoy the coffee instead.”

Dei Pandiya, I dont understand the point, you are updating your wordpress regularly, and now, you have updated to version 2.7 for heaven sake. I just wanted to ask, why in earth, you are updating, as you not writing any blog, its better to leave the wordpress as it is.
Adey Arumuga, You may say that you have little access to internet and now, you got your internet connection in Trivandrum also. So, why not blog something, that would add a celebration to the unlimited Internet festival. But Please don’t bore me by saying your thanks to bsnl broadband.
You can blog about the great trip to Andaman, with your friends Chandragiri, Ranjith and Vivek. You can explain the breath taking adventure in the Bay of Bengal and the famous escape from the leaches. You have lots to blog, buddy.
Just think, about the readers of your blog, they were interest in action and adventures. Whether the economy goes up or down, Action adventures drives one forward, brings out the confidence and it spread across the society. More over, this would improve TRP rating of your blog.
Finally, I dont mind, whether you are listening to me or not. But, just remember, all that I am saying, is for the welfare of your blog. (my inner self starts crying)
