Speed Up Open Office

Knowingly, or Unknowingly, everyone has been using an Office Suite for basic documentation to complex financial calculation. Recent Days, Office Suite can be classified, into two streams, online Office Suite and Desktop Office Suite.
Be it Online or Offline, there is a stiff competition among the Office Suite. And, It is quite evident among Google Docs, ZoHo, Microsoft Office Live and others

It appears like the topic is getting diverted, Ok, lets turn our attention back to the title.i.e., Its wide known fact that OpenOffice is very slow compared to other popular office suites, predominantly OpenOffice being a Java application, we cant expect more. However, There is a way to improve the speed of OpenOffice, Please follow the steps below to improve the speed.

Launch OpenOffice.org, Go to Tools -> Option,

  1. Click Memory in the right Hand side menu.Change the following in values in the Right Hand Side,

    -- Undo ---------------------------------------
    Number Of Steps             - 30
    -- Graphics Cache -----------------------------
    Use for OpenOffice.Org        -    128 MB
    Memory Per Object            -    20.0 MB
    Remove From Memory After    -    00:00 hh:mm
    -- Cache For Inserted Objects -----------------
    Number Of Objects            - 20
    -- Open Office Quick Starter ------------------
    Check This - Load OpenOffice.Org at Startup
    -----------------------------------------------

  2. Click the Jave option in the left hand menu,
    Uncheck “Use a Java Runtime Environment” , for a normal Office Suite Operation.
