NetBook
Over the years, Internet has taken its wide reach into masses in various forms dialup , broadband, wifi hotspots, gprs etc. With this growing trend, the need for simple device for browsing is quite evident. While at the same time, the breakthrough evolution of Arm chip and new Intel Atom Processor, paved the way for NetBook.
Since its inception in the year 2007, NetBook has been one of the hot product in the computer world. Within just two years, the market share of Netbook has crossed over the laptop by more than 30%.
Microsoft has seen this growing trend of linux netbook, and extended its support Windows XP till 2010 in order to prevent the growing spread of linux. While, it is known that windows xp support was previously closed by Microsoft after Vista Release.
Ok, so basically, whats the difference in Netbook and Laptop and let see, how it is in operation compared to laptop.
NetBook.. its a book of internet. When I say its a book, its size is actually a size of book, that makes it more portable than laptop.
And, in terms of power consumption, NetBook wins over Laptop, As NetBook’s Intel Atom Processor consumes 5 times less power as compared to the mobile processors of laptop.
In the last two years, NetBook, has come long a way, from just 4GB hard disk to 160 GB. At present, NetBook is equally powerful as Laptop, except for the high graphics intensive application.
And so, My NetBook, Acer AspireOne (Price Rs 21,500 Only).
Its demerit, there is no CD/DVD drive in NetBooks, as that makes the device more compact as a book. The USB External Drive is the solution if one needs a CD/DVD Drive(Rs 4000).
