“நவஜோக்களுக்கும் வெள்ளையர்களுக்குமிடையே சமத்துவத்தை நிலைநாட்ட விரும்புகிறார், இரவு கழுகார். ஆனால், மேஜர் வெல்மேன், யானோடோ எனும் நவஜோ மந்திரவாதி மூலம்,  சீறும் கரடி்யை,  வெள்ளையருக்கு எதிராக கலகம் செய்ய தூண்டுகிறார். அதன் மூலம், நவஜோக்கள் அனைவரையும் அழித்துவிட்டு, நவஜொக்களின் பொக்கிசத்தை அடைய நினைக்கிறார், மேஜர் வெல்மேன். ஆனால், இரவுக் கழுகார், தனது சமயொஜித அறிவினாலும், வீரத்தினாலும், மேஜரின் திட்டத்தை தவிடுபொடியாக்கி், நவஜோக்களுக்கும் வெள்ளையர்களுக்குமிடையே அமைதியை நிலைநாட்டுகிறார் “.

கேள பாய் கதைகளில், தரப்படும் அடைமொழிகள் சுவாரசியாமானது. எடுத்துகாட்டுக்கு, மேலே கண்ட கதைச்சுருக்கத்தில், டெக்ஸ் வில்லரின் அடைமொழி இரவு கழுகார் என்றும், நவஜோ தலைவனை  “சீறும் கரடி்” என்றும் குறிப்பிடுகையில் அந்த பாத்திரத்தின் கதைச்சுவை கூடுகிறது.

இரவு கழுகார், சீறும் கரடி் வரிசையில், தமிழகம் வருகிறான் “முரட்டு சிங்கம்”. யார் இந்த முரட்டு சிங்கம் என்று அதிகம் சிந்திக்க வேண்டாம். “இம்சை அரசன் இருபத்தி மூன்றாம் புலிகேசி” மற்றும், “அறை எண் 305ல் கடவுள்” படத்தை இயக்கிய சிம்புதேவனின் அடுத்த படைப்பு தான் “இரும்பு கோட்டை முரட்டு சிங்கம்”, சுருக்கமாக “இகோமுசி”. இதில், முரட்டு சிங்கமாக லாரன்ஸ் தோன்றுகிறார். மேலும், ஒரு சிறப்பம்சம் என்னவென்றால், இந்த படம், சுமார் 35 வருடங்களுக்கு பிறகு வெளிவரும் முழு நீள கேள பாய் தமிழ் திரைப்படம்.

என்ன. இப்பவே டிவிடி வாங்க கிளம்பிட்டீங்களா.. Wait.. The Shooting has just began.

“வாரணம் ஆயிரம்” திரைப்படத்தைப் பற்றி மூன்று சொற்களில் சொல்ல வேண்டுமென்றால், சூர்யா..சூர்யா..சூர்யா.. என்று தான் சொல்ல வேண்டும். ஆம். படத்தின் நாயகன், சூர்யா, தந்தை மகன் என்ற இரட்டை வேடங்களில், தனது சிறப்பான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்தியதோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல், விடாமுயற்சி, கடின உழைப்பு, என்ற வார்த்தைகளுக்கு முன் உதாரணமாகவும் விளங்கியுள்ளார். தந்தை மகன் பாசம், மகனுக்கு தோழனாய் இருக்கும் தந்தை, தந்தையை போல் வாழ நினைக்கும் மகன், இப்படி தந்தைக்கும் மகனுக்கும் உள்ள உறவின் பல பரிணாமங்களை அற்புதமாக செதுக்கியுள்ளார் இயக்குனர் கௌதம் மேனன். மேலும், ஹாரிஸ் ஜெயராஜின் இசை, படத்திற்கு மெருகேற்றியுள்ளது. சமீரா, சிம்ரன், திவ்யா என்று மூன்று கதாநயகிகளும், கதையோடு ஒன்றி நடித்துள்ளனர். oklahoma குண்டு வெடிப்பு சம்பவம், படத்தில் சிறிது நேரமே வந்து போனாலும், நிகழ் காலத்தோடு ஒன்றுவதால், தசாவதாரம் சுனாமி போல், படத்தின் கதை அறிவுப் பெட்டகமாகவும் திகழ்கிறது.

இப்படி, பல விசயங்கள், படத்திற்கு பக்க பலமாக அமைந்திருந்தாலும், முடிவில்லாமல் தொடர்ந்து செல்லும் கதை, கௌதம் படங்களில் இயல்பாக காணப்படும் மேற்கத்திய சாயல், ஒரே பாடலில் பணக்காரன் ஆகும் கதாநாயகன், என்று சில பல காரணங்கள், படத்தின் ஈர்ப்பு விசையை குறைக்கிறது. இதில் குறிப்பாக, படத்தின் மேற்கத்திய சாயலை பார்க்கும் பொழுது, படத்திற்கு “வாரணம் ஆயிரம்”என்பதை விட “Elephants 1000″ என்ற தலைப்பு மிகவும் பொறுத்தமாக இருக்கும், என்பது என்னுடைய கருத்து.

This blog is my personal experience which is going to be based on the moral of this blog “Are we Thinking out of the Box”.

In many ways, People are like the buzzard, the bat and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up.

It’s all about Lakshmi Theatre. The One of the famous cinema theatre in Madivala (bangalore) that is near to my home. This theatre is special for me, as, it reminds me the above moral.

A year back, I got a transfer from Trivandrum to Bangalore. Being a movie (theatre) freak and new to the city, I want to fullfill my appetite in both. I want to watch new movies releasing in city and also roam around the city. The solution or strategy I have followed is that, if a new movie was released in the city, I would watch the movie in a theatre for which i havent been before.

For everything, there is a starting point. Starting point for this exploration was began with the search of theatre “Aruna” for the movie “Pattiyal”. I dont want to go into the movie details, however, it is a good movie, almost pithamagan remade.

After almost one month, I was still living there in Madivala(Bangalore). I have watched a movie in Forum. I felt that I was getting narrowed down. The initial aspiration was not there anymore, anyway, I wouldnot let my ignition switch off. It was at those time, I came to know about Lakshmi Theatre in Tavarakere near Madivala. I dont remember what was my first movie in Lakshmi Theatre.

We took the Auto and we memorised the route all the way to the theatre. After Reaching there, We estimated the distance from home and as per our calculations, the movie theatre was not so far, jus 20 min walk. Thanks to the Auto for showing the way. After watching the movie, we were back home by the same route on walk.

Almost three months have gone. By this time, we have watched the some three to four movies Don , Superman Returns, Dhoom etc in the same theatre. All the time, we have taken the same route.

But that is not all. One fine day, when I was returning from Taverekere, I find a narrow street going straight just before the usual route. I have decided to try that street. voila. You wont believe me. It takes me directly to the back of my house. Its just five minutes walk..

This is one such small event that happened to me. But after that I came across lots of similar incidents however, this is significant compared to others as the impact of this incident was quite long i.e, three months.

But this sluggishness was not there, a day before, for the movie Elizabeth : the Golden Age. Its not that the movie is so good, Its just another average movie and it was all about the Virgin Queen Elizabeth ruled Britain on 1564. The movie was a unique experience in feeling the real effect of Dolby surround sound and the music was scored by the lady who was sitting next to me. Though I get irritated with those echoes, sad sounds that she made for each twists and turns of movie (twists were absolutely dumb), it adds beauty to movie watching experience.

Not only the background music, that makes me sit till the end of the movie, the real reason is that I was in a Cinemas. Guys, Its not like in DVD, where if you get bored, you can switch it off & play it sometimes later.

So, Fancied by the Elizabeth movie, I have decided to watch the Last Legion.
The movie takes us back to 564 AD, but the director was not successful in making the movie historically consistent. The Movie has become a complete fiction that connects the hereditary of Roman Empire with the Beginning of British Empire.
i.e., The story says that the last king of Rome, went to Brittania and founds a new empire.
The story was simple. But to tell this story, we need a Hero and Heroin. Hero is obviously we can guess, the commander of Roman Empire and the Heroin is from India, Mira (Aishwarya Rai). The Mira is (just ABCD) that she introduce herself as she was an kalari payattu expert(Seventh Grade) from Kerala, South India

I have to appreciate that the director has put the fact that Kalari payattu , the famous Martial Arts that is practised in the regions of Kerala from those olden days.
but both the terms, “Kerala” & “India” were part of 20th century and no worries, its just a fictional addition to the movie. The movie uses usual commercial formula of a normal movie and so, there was lots of holes in the screenplay.

The Final Verdict is that there was no real substance in the movie and also, its true that the movie is good for one who has never watched any history based movies.
